So one thing that occurs to me reading through your materials is that Hardism just seems to trade on the claim that we have an intuition that zombies are logically possible.

To which I reply: hang on a minute, I don't! My intuition is that they are not possible. If my zombie twin is atom for atom identical to me, then there is just no way that I can have spice whilst he does not.

To which I suppose they reply: ah ha! You are begging the question in favour of materialism!

But which I reply: sure, but the intuition that zombies are possible has to beg the question in favour of dualism...

... but why should we grant *that*?

... especially given everything we know about the physical universe, and its role in explaining everything else that we want to try and explain?

Materialist intuitions just seem to be on much sturdier ground than dualist ones. Of course we cannot say a priori that they will in the end turn out to be the right ones. But for now, the burden of proof lies with the other side.
